Okay, it's been a long time since I've looked at this, or done anything with my cross stitch patterns. I tried printing out the pattern below, but alas, it won't print the entire pattern and floss list; since it's a picture file, it must be printed to one page, so must be reduced in size to 60%, and then is a bit small to use. So I redid the picture file, with the floss list next to the chart. I also removed the green background color, to save ink. Just click on the picture to print.

This is my second test of the Candy Cane pattern. Here it is with pattern, count, and floss list included in one image. To print click the image below and print from the result image in its full size.

This is just a test.

I want to see if I can somehow use my blog as a stopping place for my cross stitch patterns that are on my old Geocities site (since they are shutting down in a few months). These are the images for the Candy Cane pattern, with no tinkering, straight from the site.

Once again, I have been lax in writing; at least I haven't been lax in cross stitching. Here is my latest progress on my computer desk project, carousel baby, which I am stitching for my niece. I'm working on the backstitch now, coming down the homestretch...


I've also been working on a new (to the blog anyway) project, which is "Ride Em Cowcat," from an old leaflet, Garfield.... Crosses Your Path, from Millcraft. As you can see, I have been working on it for awhile.


I've been working the Day Without Stitching sampler as well, as my on-the-road project, but it doesn't seem to go as fast as my other projects, so I thought I'd wait and post new progress next time.

Here, we're looking forward to warmer weather and school being out for the summer! Only about four weeks to go...

Long time, no write! I've been doing a lot of cross stitching, not a lot of posting. I've been working on two projects, and I finished one.

The one I finished? It's the snowman sweatshirt! It's a Christmas project, so I've only worked on it in winter. Well, I was so close to being done this year, I worked on it till it was finished. I pulled out the waste canvas threads and took this picture on April 5 (after laundering):

Other than that, I have been working on the birth sampler for my neice here in the computer room. Here is my progress, as of April 6:

Yeah, it's even been a week since I scanned these pictures. I've done quite a bit more stitching on them since. I'm also working on a new project to replace the sweatshirt, which I'll post when I get enough done to see what it is!

Time flies - whether you're having fun or not!

It's spring break week, and spring begins officially on Thursday. We are enjoying our free week without school or work. It is truly a break for us! So far we haven't done much, other than see the doctor for a regular checkup and watch it rain... By Thursday that should change.

Thought I'd update my current cross stitch projects. I've been working on the baby sampler here at the computer, and it's going much better than my progress shows. It doesn't seem I get much done with these projects with lots of color changes and quarter stitches. This is as of this morning:

I've been quite busy stitching lately, and have more WIPs going, since I now have a carry-along project to stitch at work. No scans tonight (just too lazy, just too late, and I haven't made that much progress on my regular projects), but thought I'd write an update since it's been almost 20 days since my last. I'm still working on the baby sampler and the backstitching on the snowman sweatshirt. My take-along project is currently Day without Stitching, which I worked on last summer. It's only my first week back at it; I will scan and post when I get more done.

Until then, have a happy leap day, do something you don't normally do!

It's February! Since I last wrote, my son had a birthday, and we had snow. We've also had temperatures in the 70s since then too... Such is weather in Arkansas...

I have been cross stitching too (warm temperatures help). I have been working on the baby sampler for my niece, who was born last May. It is from the Leisure Arts publication "Come and Play Baby Collection." Here is my current progress:

I have also been working a little on the snowman sweatshirt. I haven't done much lately, because I've been working on the backstitch and don't care for backstitch, but it's been awhile since I had a new picture of my progress, so here it is, as of today:

Yeah, it's been awhile. No excuse, other than that I've acquired a new computer and haven't done very much stitching. I have finished the stitching on the snowman angel I started before Christmas, but haven't done the angel yet. Here it is:


I've done a few stitches of the backstitching on my Christmas snowman sweatshirt, but haven't had much interest in that lately. It's been, quite frankly, too cold. My next project will be a UFO - baby sampler for my niece born last May (I usually give the sampler for first birthdays...). I have started on it, but haven't worked on it in a long while.

Happy New Year! Yeah, a little bit late for that, but that's the story of my year so far...

I haven't been cross stitching much. I have been working on the snowman angel I started before Christmas, but still haven't gotten beyond the white, so there's still really nothing to see. I am hopeful I will soon have time to work more. I even stitched a few minutes on my sweatshirt tonight.

Anyway, I decided to share a photo of my 2007 ort ornament. Throughout the year I save all my floss ends and I put them all into a clear glass ball on which I paint the year. I started doing this in 1996, so this is my 12th ornament.


Here's hoping 2008 will be happy, healthy, and full of cross stitching!

Hey! Hope your holidays have been merry. Ours were, for the most part. My son got everything he asked for - considering it was only two items...

But mostly what we got for Christmas was sick. My son brought home a stomach virus, and he spent Christmas in bed, so we missed the family get-together this year. Then, once Christmas was over and the day after was in full swing, I came down with the virus as well. Ugh! Missed a day of work and am still not 100% three days later. Looking forward to the new year!

As for my stitchery, I have been working on another angel ornament, but because it's a snowman and all I've done so far is white, I won't bother with a scan. I haven't worked on much else, though I've been meaning to do backstitching to finish my snowman sweatshirt I've been working on for too many years... You can see my last scan of it below on the November 25 entry.

Otherwise, I have been getting my calendars ready for the new year and playing games on King.com... Happy New Year!

Just a short note as the season is winding down. No cross-stitch, no photos to share, just a wish for a very merry Christmas to everyone!

Goodness, is it December already? I have been quite busy with Christmas related projects, none of which involve cross stitch and few involving the Internet, so I haven't even been around lately. My "manual labor" project is winding down, however, so perhaps soon I'll be here more often, and get to stitch some!

Last night we put up our Christmas tree, finally! I gathered all the angel ornaments I've made this year, and I took a photo, including one I did previously. Here is the picture of all eight:

I still have five more kits; perhaps I'll make more next year!

It's Sunday, the last day off for the long holiday weekend for me. That's okay, because it's not long till Christmas now. Yikes!

I've already (thankfully) started my Christmas projects, but I've also managed to finish my last angel before Christmas. Here she is. The pattern is from the December issue of the Cross Stitcher magazine.

No new projects now for a month or so, though I hope to work in some cross stitch here and there (helps keep me sane!). I plan to work some on my snowman sweatshirt I've been working on during the Christmas season the last three or four years. Here is last year's progress, though I do have a little more than this done.

Time for a cross stitch update. I finished my latest angel on Monday, so thought I'd share. Here she is:


I had said this would be my last angel while I take time to work on Christmas stitching, but I found another pattern in the December issue of the Cross Stitcher that I had to do, so I've been working on that.

I haven't, however, done much work on Day without Stitching. I've been working on the words, and they're coming along slowly. Here is today's progress:

I will probably put it away soon and work on my regular wintertime snowman sweatershirt that I've been working on for like five years now... The way it goes when I only work on it about three months of the year...

Time flies... whether you're having fun or not... That's true for me right now. It's school conference season and time for other outdoor activities before the weather changes. Winter - that's when I do my best cross stitch, or at least my most prolific. Right now, not so much.

I have been working on what will be my last angel, because I'm needing to do some actual stitching for Christmas. It's another design from the 2003 BHG leaflet Treasury of Christmas Cross-Stitch Designs, small wreath. Here is today's progress:

Well, I finished the angel I spoke of in my last post, and have given her to my friend, so here is the photo of it.

The pattern is from the March 2006 issue of the British Cross Stitcher magazine. I added the Santa hat embellishment myself... It is a Christmas ornament, after all.

Oh, and in the process I also finished the jingle bells angel, and here she is as well.

With the time I spent on the dachshund angel this week, I didn't work on Day without Stitching at all, so no scan of it this week. I'm sure I'll do some work on it next week...

It has been awhile. I've been doing lots of things, other than posting here - that includes solving some Internet connection issues. Also includes cross stitching, so here are my project updates.

First, I have finished the stitching on the jingle bells for my latest angel ornament. With many quarter stitches, it was harder than it looks to finish! I will be stitching one for a friend next, so won't be posting pictures - until after she gets it!

I've also done more work on Day without Stitching. It's coming along, as my stitching nears the bottom of the design. The spaces for personalization will remain empty, as they will be done last.

It's the weekend, hurray! Fall has arrived, it appears, here in Arkansas. The leaves should be changing soon. October is my favorite month of the year.
